IPL operating principle
The IPL works on the basis of the so-called “thermal decomposition”. The therapist directs the beam to the appropriate area of skin – then triggers a flash on the melanin-containing hair. More specifically, the pulsed light travels through the hair down to the root, where the melanin is absorbed. The resulting thermal reaction – a marked increase in temperature in the root cells – leads to the death of the hair follicle.
This type of treatment is performed over a large area, while the laser must treat each hair individually. This is not only time-consuming but also unnecessarily burdens the skin with energy. This can easily lead to burns.
The IPL system has a larger treatment head, so the entire area can be treated with light.
The speed at which the ideal goal of hair-free and soft skin is achieved, of course, also depends on the location and condition of the hair. But be confident – we can do it!
Information for tattoo wearers
Tattoos and permanent hair removal – these two don’t necessarily have to be mutually exclusive. Many women even prefer their tattooed skin to be hair-free, as the image works better on smooth surfaces.
